Soon the country? Why would someone in say Chicago care?

Umm no it doesn't see below

I use to own a location (Burger chain) in Chattanooga so I'm familiar with the area.
Change starts with $$$, this is capitalism after all and Delta and other airlines aren't charity.

Currently thanks to another misguided Democrat policy there is a regional jet pilot shortage, so going forward you are likely to see less service, rather than more.
According to the BLS your enplanement numbers are down YoY at CHA, so if you want to attract more flights it starts with the airport authority - hold them accountable. Lower costs borne by the airlines at your airport works a heck of a lot better than some silly petition. At the end of the day if you need air travel its not like you aren't going to get on at CHA or drive to ATL and they know it. Given the distance your podunk town is from ATL few aircraft make economic sense to fly there with oil flirt about $100 a barrel.
Finally, given your leaning towards Delta it won't win your little 'burg friends with other airlines... just a thought...

I don't always agree with what Burgers says, but, in this case, he/she is absolutely 100% correct. The only way you're going to increase service is to utilize the existing service to the maximum. Other airlines will increase/initiate service if YOY numbers consistently increase, and/or if your airport will provide a "revenue guarantee". Small to medium size airports are going to have a very hard time attracting additional service without that.
