Angry BA reneging on overbook compensation offer - anyone else?

I flew with BA to Barbados in august. On the return trip, BA had overbooked and they made us an offer to volunteer our seats in exchange for cash or vouchers.
Whichever option we chose, out 3month old was offered half the value.
On return home to the UK, BA treated the case as if this was the first they were hearing of and refusing to compensate my son.
I keep having to repeat that an agreement was already made and they keep responding as if I am complaining about the actual money value of the vouchers.
I have to use their email complaints procedure as trying to phone has waits of a half hour during their off peak times.

Has anyone had this issue? I just want to have an idea of what I am up against. I havent put any specifics as I am still going and froing with BA
