Hi,
I have a unique and different situation and needs your help. My name on passport is Muhammad Jamal Shah with Shah as a last name. I am planning to travel in the end of December. Now the problem is, I have applied for my US citizenship, which is in process and when I was filing my application, I opted to change my name and removed Shah as my last name. So the new name would be Muhammad Jamal with out Shah.

Now the first Scenario is my application is in process and they may not finish processing at that time and I dont get interview call till end of december. In that case, my name on my ticket, Passport and green card would be same as Muhammad Jamal Shah. So, I will be good to go.

But if I have been called for interview with in next month or so, then I will get my new US passport. And name on my new passport would be Muhammad Jamal with out Shah. which will be different from my ticket.

My question is, will it be possible to change my name (remove Shah) in my ticket? or what should I do? please advise. I really want to buy tickets as the prices would go higher, if I wait.

Your best bet is to contact the airline and discuss with them.

If you become a dual citizen (i.e. your current citizenship + US citizenship), you could potentially travel on your non-US passport. Again, your best bet is to talk to an airline rep.
