I have been flying Etihad for about 2 years and whenever somebody asks me "How is Etihad", my standard reply is "Great in the air but lousy on the ground". The reason I say this is that check-in with Etihad, particularly at Abu Dhabi airport is an absolute nightmare. It doesn't matter how early you arrive at Terminal 3 you will still stand there for 2 hours while some slouch that got out of bed 2 hours later than you will be immediately catapulted to the top of the check-in queue when he arrives breathless with his luggage, late for check-in. Then the rest of us stand there seething while this "Johnny Come Lately" get's priority attention so that he doesn't miss his flight. Please stop this practice and treat all passengers equally
