Delta luggage rip off
I had a problem with Delta Airlines. Not bad enough they charging first class point for economy, plus extra money for the business upgrade, but they are ripping of customers with the baggage charges. We made reservations over the phone using my sky mile points. I bought tickets for my daughter, so she could fly back to Hungary to take care of her grandmother who fell ill suddenly. I even got her upgraded seats. They told us that her flight is in business class so those baggage rules apply to her. She could have 2 pc 70lbs luggages, but have to pay for the 2nd one. So we checked her in online and pay for the extra luggage. Her flight was leaving at 6:42PM from Newark Airport. We arrived at 4:00PM and got into the line for luggage drop off. I don’t know what was going on, because the line hardly moved, most of the travelers got upset and worried that will miss the plane. Finally after more than an hour wait in-line we got to the desk, where we were told she could only take up to 50lbs/ luggage. They wanted to charge $100 for the 1st luggage overweight and an other $200 for the second luggage. We told them they told us since she has business class ticket she could have 70 lbs. They said only the connecting flight is business, so it only applies to that. This is ridicules!!!! We had to take out things from her luggage and they were telling us we should hurry up because she won’t be able to check-in. They didn’t even try to help at all. This was my 19 years old daughter first trip alone and Delta definitely made it a very stressful experience for her and the entire family!
