Scheduled to go from Flo, SC to Charlotte to Birmingham, Al. Flight out of Flo late. Flight to Birmingham from Charlotte cancelled. Was told to fly to Philadelphia then Birmingham. Flew to Philly. Was told was not on flight to Bham. Was told could fly out of Philly in 24 hours. Drove home. Had to cancel 5 subsequent flights. Had to rent car and drive all night. Really ticked. Will not fly AA again.

So sorry to hear about your horrible nightmare experience with American Airlines. We just had a similar wretched run-in with them on 28 Dec 2015 when they decided it was a "swell idea" to CANCEL our son's flight back to his base where he was to report for duty THAT DAY! AA CANCELLED his early am flight while we were halfway to the ATL airport which is 4 hours away (claiming that SEVERE weather in LA was their reason) but they had NO PROBLEM FLYING the MORE EXPENSIVE flights that was scheduled to go to the SAME STATE/CITY that day, (several flights were within the SAME EARLY MORNING TIME FRAME)!!

So, BASICALLY, they just LIED to us about not having another flight to place him on that day, too (we checked the AA flight log), so we had to RUSH to get alternative transportation for him that cost additional $$ (that American Airlines does not want to reimburse). Both the IGNORANT, RACHET Customer Service Rep, and so-called "Supervisor" we spoke with later on was ABSOLUTELY NASTY, and the CSR even hung up on us!!

We are filing a complaint with BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU against these NIMRODS!!!
