Default Delta Nightmare Flight 1613

Several months ago I booked a flight for my granddaughter from IND to ATL. She drove in horrible weather from SouthBend to IND and got to the Delta desk to drop off her bag 35 min before the flight. She was told that the flight was overbooked and that she was too late! She spoke with two agents , called me 3 times, called her mother, and spoke with an AirTran agent before proceeding to the next filght's gate. Enroute she passed what should have been her flight and it was just then boarding! She was jerked around because she was a young person . They would never have done this to an adult an gotten away with it. She is now sitting at the gate and waiting standby for another overbooked flight and may not get on tonight or tomorrow! I may not see her until Mon. Delta has ruined our Holiday and I may never book a flight with them again. Even the agent at the gate said she couldn't belive that they would not take her bag or board her 35 minutes before flight time! Since I truly believe you reap what you sow...... those agents will get their due!

I do sympathise, how old is she? However, 35 minutes is cutting it fine... and it gives the DeltaNazi's the excuse they need

Late is late. If the flight is overbooked then they can legally deny her a boarding pass for that flight.
