Default Stolen laptop

My son's laptop was stolen from his suitcase returning from DisneyWorld on Continental. We figure it happened in Orlando during the 3 hours the bag was in Continental custody from checkin at Disney's All-Star Music resort. We filed a complaint but were told that they would investigate but would deny the claim, stating that electronic device theft claims would be denied. My son had been advised at the airport that his laptop would be safe in his luggage. Ha!

When you check your luggage, the airlines are not responsible for any of the belongings that are inside of the luggage. NEVER check car keys, medication, electronic devices, jewelry, etc. ALSO, there is not guarantee that Continental is the one that stole the laptop. Your bag must go through TSA screening. They are the ones that see what is inside the bag, and would be more likely to take something. It certainly wouldn't be the first, or second time. I would contract TSA about this issue.
