Angry Seating assignment

In April of this year we booked first class tickets to Las vegas with USAir. We paid for two tickets full fare. No upgrade no frequent flyers miles. The tickets added up to $7,600 for both. Our seats were pre-assigned both coming and going. When we arrived at the gate we were told that my aisle seat had been changed to a window seat ... both coming and going. Both times my seat had been assigned to a grossly overweight man. Nether one of them wanted to change, of course. So four over four hours I sat next to a stranger when my husband and I had paid to sit next to each other. We do not travel together that much and this was to be a special occasion. When I complained to USAir they told me in no uncertan terms that 1) they never pre-assigned all seats (they HAD pre-assigned mine) and 2) that in any case I had no recourse because they can do anything they want. I will go to hell and back before I ever travel with them again. I never take the USAir Shuttle to New York, either Delta and more preferably the train.

Default another fat person gets my seat!

I was on #1926 from MCO-DCA yesterday. When I boarded, a grossly obsese woman was in my window seat, #6A. She told me that the flight attendant moved her there, saying she "would do better in the window and not her center seat". I had no choice but to take her center seat, as the flight was 100% full. For 2 hours, I had to lean into the guy in the aisle seat. Also, I could not lower the armrest between the fat lady and me, because she also occupied 1/4 of my seat!

USAIR - get smarter about how you treat your paying customers. Your flight attendant did not ask me if her decision was okay...she did not even know if I was obese or not, so her actions were not logical.

I had booked this seat 6 weeks ago, but USAIR was quite happy to give someone else it without any concern for their actions.

Thumbs down seating assignment

USAir seems to have a bad habit of reassigning seats in situ without any regards to anyone's comfort or much of a sense of decency. Their planes are also filthy and many of their attendants do not shave their faces and look as if they had been sleeping in their uniforms. I only fly with them if absolutely nothing else is available. I commiserate. Go to Small Claims Court and get your money back.
