Default Don't Fly Direct!

I don't think I will ever fly DIRECT AIR again! The flight to florida was fine,The flight home was awful! We had Three horrible woman that took our seats and would not move out of them and the stewdarss called security and the pilot said he would not allow it.We ended up standing in front of the plane to wait for the jerks to find seats for us. So, we lost OUR seats! The tickets may be cheaper but,the flight was not worth saving money on! I will go with another airline next time!

I really fell for the Direct Air Family Ties sale in March, buying 6 round-trip vouchers for $160.00. Beginning April 1st, you could redeem the vouchers for actual flights. After over a week of constant calling and getting busy signals on the reservation line, I tried to submit the on-line redemption form. [/font]

[FONT='Verdana','sans-serif']There's no reply to acknowledge the request was even was received! I finally called the corporate number, they transferred me to reservations and at least I got to be put on hold-- for like 20 minutes! I was able to redeem two of the vouchers for travel from Rockford to Palm Beach, leaving 05/06/2011 and returning 05/16/2011. Imagine the shock, when 10 days later, after reserving a rental car and hotels through Priceline (non-refundable) I get a call from Direct Air telling me both legs of the flight were cancelled as only 14 other people had booked! They told me, quite nicely by the way, that basically the 'fine print' allowed them to cancel the flights, too bad for me. I had to scramble today to get airfare, which ended up costing an additional $250.00! Don't take the risk of using Direct Air, you never know when you might have a very nasty surprise like I did today. Saving a few bucks up front sure ended up costing me a lot more than using a standard carrier. Being able to be confident that your flights aren't going to be cancelled is priceless; I wouldn't trust any of their sales. There are multiple complaints against Direct Air for flight cancellations, beware.

I took a flight from Melbourne home to Niagara falls on Sunday April 17th 2011.We had are boarding passes with our seat numbers on them but, we were all stopped at the gate and told there was no room on the plane for are carry on bags .We were told we had to check them all. Well, when we finally got on the plane we found our seats had people in them. The stewardess came over and tried talking to them but said I am calling security we were led to the front of the plane for at least 20 minutes while they did nothing because the pilot decided they were not calling security.After a ton of problems i don't want to drag this on but, i cried as we had no seats and they were still boarding people and I have bad anxiety the pilot that would not help announces that he has a nervous fl yer and asked if anyone so they did.long story short I finally did get a call from direct air main office stating the seats are free?After telling her I don't understand I paid for my seats so, are you telling me its open admission?she said yes ma'am I said I had boarding passes she said it did not matter.As far as the BBB, it is located in SC because Direct air is there and they keep closing every ones case because you can not ask for anything as far as being compensated.But, you have to write something in the box to even get it submitted makes no sense.This is just a unbelievable horrible company.So, BBB will not even help.
