Default I can't call Customer Service, I have to email????

On the day of my travel home, I called American Airlines and paid $25.00 for "confirmed Stand-by" to get me home earlier from my week-long business trip. When I arrived at the airport, the first leg of the flight was cancelled, thus prohibitted me from making my connection in Dallas to get me home that night.

I asked for some compensation via the airline's email complaint system. I fear I will never hear from them and will never get my money back.

Everything I have ever heard of this airline is true. All bad. I ended up flying to Denver, spending the night there at a cost of $175.00, renting a car and getting stuck in a blizzard on the way home, thus having to pay for another hotel bill (make that Motel bill) at an out of the way motel in a small town (the state patrol closed the interstate). This ordeal ended up costing me $486.00, plus the $25.00 that I paid for that confirmed stand-by.

I would rather drive, take a train, or pay extra for a flight on another airline than fly American ever again. The agent at the airport offered me a voucher for a future flight. While I was polite in my decline of his offer, I silently told him what he could do with his voucher. I will never give them my business again, nor will I refer my clients to them.

AA has had some bad luck lately, im flying them on sunday for business. I did that once before, paid the $25 for a confirmed stand by seat, flight was delayed 3 hours, my originall flight ended up leaving only 30min. after my "earlier" flight. however due to the weather the airlines wont pay for your hotel room or car.

So you're flight was canceled due to a blizzard? I'd take a blizzard over my experiences with AA, believe me none good. But at least you were offered a travel voucher, I've never been offered anything from them. Then again I avoid asking them for anything, because out of newark, eeeeeesh the agents are crazy. United all the way.
