All planes delays because of slow counter service in Toronto
Last Wednesday I had to take flight 1583 from Toronto to Miami and went three hours ahead to the airport. There were just three AA staff members in the international area and a lot of people were afraid they were not going to get into their planes. It took me around 2 hours to get to the counter and later an hour to go through immigration. My flight was supposed to leave at 9:40 and I reached the plane at 10:15. The plane finally left at 11:00 as there were still people coming in from immigration.
It is understandable that it takes a while to go through US immigration in Toronto, but standing for TWO hiurs in line because of the few people at the AA counter made it worse and created a vicious cycle where everyone was late for their flights so all flights had to wait for passengers, otherwise they would have left empty if they had not waited.
On top of that, the food for pay was not enough and by the time the attendants got to my row, they said they had run out of croisants as they had been given just 10 !!!!! Unbelievable. Not only do we have to pay for the food now but there isn´t any if one wanted to buy some!!!!
I am having second thoughts and will try Air Canada next time to get to my final destination.
