Daughter Forced to sit in Urine Soaked Seat
Yes. This is true. My 13 year old daughter did not realize until she was in the seat that her seat was wet. The Continental Flight Attendant provided a blanket, noting that the only other thing they could do on the overbooked flight to San Francisco was to take her off, but there would not be courtesy booking on a later flight. That's when we noticed the smell... this was no soda or water soaked seat...but someone must have had a bathroom incident. Her pants were thoroughly soaked with urine, and by then, it was too late to get off the plane, even though we had not actually departed.
To add insult to injury, upon arriving in San Francisco, the luggage was missing, so there was to be no quick changing of the clothes in the rest room. We had to spend a couple hundred on fresh pants, socks, and underwear as well as at least a few tops and spare shoes to last until the lost luggage was found and caught up with the group.
Strike three was when we filed a complaint at the airport with the airline, and followed up with an e-mail. We never received an acknowledgement by Continental...ever.
I'm trying to put this behind us, and Continental has also done wondrous things at other times, especially giving me free baggage check-in for my Red Cross work in the early days of baggage fees.
Unfortunately, my daughter, who is now an adult, will ONLY ever remember having to sit in pee, and the callous regard of the customer service staff, both on the flight and afterwards.
