Exclamation Paying for a mistake...

hi everyone! id like to share a mistake we and my wife made and how nice continental was to help us out

me and my wife are from rome italy and we wanted to spend our honeymoon in the USA.

on our return my mom (crazy old lady) booked us flights from nashville to new york (friday to friday) for our last week there and she did not consider that we would be flying back to roma on saturday! the flight from nashville to roma has a stop at newark airport. so instead to fly back to nashville (not direct, we'd have to stop at michigan for both flights!) we decided to check in directly in newark - very bad idea - so the mistake was in all of this mess ours...

- BUT -

as we arrived at the airport of newark 3h before departure and where ready to check in the lady at the desk told us that we had lost our reservations and that we can not get on the plain... her explenation was that we had purchased the tickets from nashville --> rome and since we did not check in nashville for them this resulted as a no show and canceled our tickets! you all can imagin that we were not to happy about that!

i asked to speak to a supervisior to settel this matter... so she made me talk to a spanish lady that was very very very rood and arogant! she was on a power trip of her self! it was unbelivable, she talked to us in a mean and rood way. she did not try to help us or try to find a solution - she just looked at her computer, telling us that they are only 2 seats left (me and my wifes seats!!!!!!) and that they would be arrownd $2000 a ticket! (my wife turned green!) - in all of this i was very calm.. i know if i would be angry or act angry i would get no ware... so what i tryed to do was explaining her why we checked in at newark, that it was our honeymoon etc etc, she did not care! and told us to buy the tickets or get out of the line! i asked her very polite if she could keep the two seats on hold - that i wanted to call the support center to see if i could work something out... she said NO thats not possible, and again said buy the tickets now or get out of the line (in the mean time she was talking spanish to 2 of her co-workers and laughing!)

the drama continued, i had to find a place to change my bills and then look for a pay-phone and that pritty quick because time was running out! then as i was on the phone with the support center the guy at the phone did not realy care about owr problem, told me about 100 times that it was our mistake, that we broke the contract blabla and that he can't do anything for me - so i asked to speak with his supervisior. that man was kind, he told me that there is no problem what so ever, id just have to pay for the fine ($128 a person) and could get on the same flight! and also told me that the supervisior at the check-in desk knows about that, and that she has the same power that he does on this matterd! just to give you an idea how STRONZA this lady was! - i almost cryed for joy. after the payment via creditcard he told me to go check in - that he already got everything in the computer....

as we wanted to checkin again - we went straight to the supervisior without waiting in line... that damm lady told us to get in line and that we where not able to cut the line (my wife was about to kill her!) so we got back in line and as we came up, the damm lady said before we could say anything "Its to late to check-in for your flight" (17min over!!!!!!!!)

you can imagine then that my patience and beeing nice came to an end! i got really mad. but there was not much i could do... so she checked us in for the next flight (7h later) as checked the weight of the luggage i had -10lbs in one and + 6lbs in the other! and ofcourse that lady wanted to charge me for the +6lbs over, i asked her gently if i could swap stuff between one and the other! she said that id have to do it away from the check-in area and even made a joke "you have a lot of time to do it" after that my wife exploded and showed that lady that everyone was doing it behind us and to not "rompere il cazzo"

it was a very bad expieriance and even though it was our fault the employees of continental where realy mean and NOT respectfull....

This is very typical of the sky-nazi attitude of the staff.. please can you post the names of the people who did this... at the least we can start to compile a list of people to avoid...

They are outrageous.

the rood lady's name was:

Lurdez Adame - Supervisior of the Check-in stand at Newark Airport - she was at the check-in stand 100-110C

i tried to file a complaint directly to contenental - BUT they told me that it was our fault - and not an mistake of the staff! also after underlining the rood behaivior!

So there we have it..

Lurdez Adame - sky nazi..

She doesn't help, attempts to force the customer to pay thousands, when it turns out the company could resolve the problem for a modest penalty. When the customer gets the resolution, she attempts to take out her hateful spite on the customer, even more.

It is time to publicly expose these nasty, hostile and abusive employees.

yeah, if you think about it - she kinda did it on purpouse... telling us that she can't hold back the seats, pushing us to buy out of desperation...

like i said, id not only like to push this to the world, i wan't that damm lady's boss to read it and send her back from where she is from!

such a behaivior is just not acceptable for a star alliance company! its not even in a low-cost airline!

Default disgraceful staff

i booked return flights from glasgow to washinghton via newark return,on my way home i was already in new york so went to check in there only to be told my ticket was cancelled because i didnt check in at washighton,i explained that i didnt no that an was told i had to buy another ticket at 1400 dollars,when i told them i didnt have that money they just told me to go away an get out of line,i explained that if i didnt get on the flight i was going to be stranded in new york with no money i was just told its not my problem just go away,i then asked them that since am a customer could they please help me get on the flight as i did buy a ticket from them an need to get home i was again told to go away,i then asked them would they rather leave me stuck in new york than help me out i was told its not my problem go away,i cant believe the arrogance of them an how little they cared an cant believe they can treat people that way i am disgusted way them an will never use them again an would urge people to use a different airline cause if you have any problems they wont help you out. ps i had to borrow over a 1000 pounds to book a hotel room and get a flight home the next day which am still paying back.
