I took AA flight 1427 connecting to AA flight 5541 last Sat, Sept 22. Because we left late out of LAX, I had little time to make my connection in St. Louis. (Not angry yet.) I really didn't expect my luggage to be in Des Moines, and it wasn't. (Not angry yet.) This is where the untruths began. The baggage lady took all my info and said my 2 checked bags would be delivered to my home (90 miles from Des Moines) by the next evening, Sunday, Sept. 23. That sounded fine to me. (Not angry yet.) As I continued to track my luggage online, I found it arrived in Des Moines on Sunday afternoon. AA gave my luggage to Fed Ex (Fed Ex told me they don't deliver on Sundays!) (Now I am getting angry.) Next I find that AA requested that I get Fed Ex's "Express Saver" and my luggage will not be delivered until Thursday, September 27!! (Now I am really angry) I tracked my luggage on Fed Ex's website and found my luggage is sitting in Ames--60 miles from my house) I called Fed Ex and was informed that I cannot go pick it up, I have to wait until Thursday. (Now I am really, really angry.) If the baggage lady would have told me the truth, I would have gone back to Des Moines on Sunday and picked up my luggage. Below is the tracking data from Fed Ex:
