Thumbs down Southwest's stupid 'free drink' policy

Southwest gives me a 'free drink' coupon when I checked in on southwest.com. I can use it to buy a $4 or $5 alcoholic beverage, but cannot use it to buy a $3 low-carb Monster Energy drink. How insane is that? They are encouraging people to use their 'free drink' coupon for alcohol, but not for an energy drink.
So I did a passive-aggressive thing on my last flight. I used the 'free drink' coupon to get a scotch and tonic. That scotch and tonic did not touch my lips. When the flight attendant came around with her trash bag, I placed it in there. She asked if there was something wrong. I told her something like, "I didn't like it...." and she said, "Can I get you something else?" and I said, "Yes, a Monster Energy drink." So she got it for me. I guess I won that battle, stupid Southwest had to pay for the scotch & tonic and the Monster Energy drink
