Flight 1185
My flight started out of Denver #1185/ Seat # 8E and my flight was suppose to leave out of gate B24 at 2:55 PM.I waited along with many others and the flight time changed to leave several times with the last time at 3:25 PM. I was sitting and waiting and "THANKFULLY" over heard two men behind me with a laptop computer saying "our flight is not going out of this gate?" It states we should be leaving from Gate B19!! I over heard them and then relized the gate info had changed at that/ that area for people NOW going to Los Angeles~~ NO ONE EVER came over to the podium to announce that not only was our flight not going,( it was STILL going to be late) that it was not even going to be going from there!! I stood up and told all the people who were waiting to leave on the San Diego flight that it had NOW changed to gate B19. I had many people come to me on the walk down and even when we FINALLY got to the gate and ON the flight they were all "thanking me". I was asked by one man if I was a teacher or with the airlines. He said " that was so nice of you to do"!! We were all still in shock that NO ONE directed us in the right direction and announced the change. Anyway, I explained to them that my father was a "retired" Captain with American Airlines (Bruce Craig). This was something that I knew should have been done (growing up in this type of world) and I had to take charge as it was not done by your airline staff "There was NO ONE around" that gate B24 "at all"!! We did not end up leaving on our flight from that "other gate/B19" that we all ventured to until 3:48 Denver time. I was going to San Diego to surprise my parents on their 50th wedding anniversary and we were having a party. I was over 53 minutes late to the San Diego airport and my Sister "circling" many times for my late arrival. I was do in at 4:13 PM and did not arrive till 5:06 PM. Very disappointing that your employees and staffing did not take care of their customer service and advise their cutomers of the change in venue~
