We went on vacation to the Bahamas after a stressful year, only to have American Airlines completely ruin it. Upon checkin in DC, the incompetent counter person checked in our bags under another person's name going to NICARAUGA! The Bahamian baggage agent had to search to even find our luggage from our baggage claim check number (Friday morning). Then we arrived Miami for our connection flight, get out on the tarmac to board our plane only to find out that the plane was scheduled for routine maintainence and we had to be shuttled back to the terminal and wait for another plane. After more than an hour delay, we returned to our flight.

After filing a claim for lost luggage, we head off to our beach resort in jeans and long sleeve clothing. After calling several times, we finally received our luggage (and not without content damage) on Sunday late afternoon. In our attempt to file the reimbursement claim on Friday's return, we were advised that we would have to do that with the 800# in the US. We are five days past, numerous calls and email complaint filed, with no response.
On our return flight out of Miami, all flights were booked after running from terminal to terminal in trying to standby since our flight was cancelled. No, they stuck us on a flight at 2:30 pm. through Chicago arriving home at 9:30 pm, therby missing our prearranged transportation home scheduled for 5:30 pm.
What a lovely ending to a lovely trip! WE CAME HOME MORE STRESSED THAN WHEN WE LEFT, and it still is not over!

And we are both frequent flyers.....AA just does not care!
