Default Air Canada agent over charge my flight change fee

My mother bought a round-trip ticket for me on Nov 4,2011 for round trip form beijing to calgary, then she phoned customer sevices to make a change this round trip from Hongkong to Calgary and paid for the difference $519 for this roud trip change.but on Dec 30,2011, I reviewed the ticket again, found the the agent only change one-way from Hongkong to Calgary and didn't changed another way Calgary to Hongkong( still is to Beijing), but the charge fee is round trip.
I had to call customer services again and changed back way from Calgary to Hongkong and paid extra antother $320.
I want to the money back for another one way charge $260 that I paid $519 on round trip change Nov 4, 2011.
My Booking reference # is L2HA6R
when I contacted with compliant department, Rick. He gave me the answer:
While your description of the incident regarding your flight change was regrettable, and your frustration is understandable, we must advise that customers have the responsibility of confirming the product they are purchasing, thereby ensuring their satisfaction. While our agents are expected to confirm the details of a reservation prior to completing a booking, the onus is on the customer to review their itinerary receipt when received and contact us within 24 hours if the booking is not correct.

Respectfully, for the above reasons, we are unable to comply with your request for reimbursement and hope you will understand our position in this matter.

We thank you for choosing Air Canada and sincerely hope you will continue to do so. Our goal is to provide you with service that meets with your complete satisfaction.

I can't accept this monopolizing rules for customers, Why I have to suffer this pain for Air canada agent's mistake because I didn't find this mistake within 24 hours ?
