My daughter was flying today from Chicago to Dulles in Virginia. Her Delta flight was delayed and caused her to only have 30 mins to get to the next flight. She knew she might have issues and alerted the flight attendant and asked her if she could get off first or be one of the first to get off so she wouldn't miss her flight. SHE SAID, "NO." I cannot believe it.
She has been traveling for four months with her job and just wanted to get home for the holidays. The flight attendant told her that her next flight was way across the airport and it was approx 2 miles to get there. My daughter ran so fast she could barely walk b/c she has things to carry too. When she got there, they had given away her seat, closed the door and wouldn't let her in, although she was there before take off.
Then they made her stand in line with about 25 others to get a hotel slip. They put her on a 0730 flight in the morning, but I am skeptical that she will even get on it, as they probably already overbooked that one. I told her to complain about the flight attendant and the airlines delay.
Delta is not the only one to overbook their flights on a regular basis and this is getting rediculous. I wish the entire world could boycot the airlines and not fly for an entire year....shoot, just a month would be enough.
