Flight rescheduled for arrival 7 hours late
On Friday, July 16, I was supposed to fly Delta leaving at 8 a.m. from Indianapolis and arriving at noon in Buffalo. At 5 a.m., I got an automated phone message that said my flight was rescheduled--with a new arrival time of 7 p.m.--that's 7 hours later than planned. This was to be a 3-day trip and I would arrive 7 daytime hours late. When I tried to call Delta to change the new schedule, the message said Delta was not receiving calls. So I went to the airport and an agent changed my flights to arrive at 3 p.m.--a little better. When I went to board the earlier flight, I was told I was on standby. I didn't get on--the flight was full. I tried 2 more standby flights that day--all full. All day, Delta agents were rude and unhelpful. Though a number of passengers volunteered for later flights and received $400 vouchers for doing so--I received nothing, not even an apology.
