NEVER NEVER NEVER even THINK to use eDreams, even if there is no other online travel ticket agent on the earth! Swim to your destination!
Expedia in the end gave me the same Turkish Airline tickets 10 percent cheaper and with no fuss or chicanery or headache, in about 7 minutes i was with the Expedia website and had paid, and received my confirmation of ticket. Let me explain my e-Nightmare dream. Really. I have traveled a lot and always use online booking services, such as Expedia, TravelAdvisor, etc. This trip from Tbilisi, Georgia, to Cairo, Egypt, using Google, I kept getting many hits at the top to use eDreams booking service, a discount intermediary. I could not get away from eDreams searching with Google, it was odd, and even though i used them 2 and a half years ago, eDreams, and I was only moderately pleased then, the price for Turkish Air seemed good today. The eDream's price was the lowest and the easiest schedule to click onto flight times. The shocker came after i was hesitating for five minutes over the use of their service, and i got a quick message "buy your ticket in the next five minutes or begin the whole procedure over again." I should never have been pushed to act so harried and quickly. As soon as my VISA debit card number went through, i was double charged for the amount of one RT flight, i got the txt messages from my bank on my mobile almost immediately. This happens to everybody, ditto, the email soon from eDreams stating that they always charge twice if you use a debit card [thanks for telling me AFTER I PAID] and that my ticket STILL HAD TO GO THROUGH SOME DIFFICULTIES of my credit clearing. I needed to sleep but had to stay up 5 hours screwing around with looking up previous complaints against eDreams using Google and other search engines. It was easy to find about 500 serious complaints. i felt like a complete sucker, and felt really sorry for the people stranded in Africa on their way to Paris, or sick with illness in Saigon on their way to Los Angeles. They lost their flight and their money and time, and maybe some of them died due to the theiving with intent people at eDreams. Everything is VERY CALCULATED and DEVIOUS in their strategies. After five hours since paying with VISA, i still had no reply from eDreams and NO TICKET CONFIRMATION in my inbox. My flight was in about 24 hours. I went to work, and when i came home, still no reversal of the double charge, no flight confirmation, and no messages from eDreams. So i called my bank and had then terminate my VISA card. The 2 identical amounts were not officially "blocked" yet. Thank god my bank's computer's and security protocols became alert to the double charge so quickly from eDreams, and threw the "block" of the amount into limbo. But i still am happy i terminated my VISA card because THAT REALLY WOKE THESE BUMS UP at eDreams! They sent these two [BELOW] insincere, trite, disingenuous and contemptuous emails to me from two different staff personnel, like snakes with beady eyes. I will repost them below. I feel that eDreams based in Barcelona, is making a HORRIBLE name for the nation of Catalan, and all other Catalans should protest like the WE ARE THE 99 PERCENT against this criminal operation, eDreams. Clearly, Europe is going the way of USA in deregulation of financing and internet security, starting with Catalonia, Spain. email reply #1 [16 hours] after my VISA card got slammed with a double charge and no ticket confirmation in my inbox..... #1 Dear customer, Thank you for booking with eDreams. Expedia has never let me down. With lower prices almost always than eDreams. I don't work for Expedia, I am just surprised i trust them today, after this, and in fact, a few years ago, many of the strange sounding names for new online "brokers" of tickets had lower prices than Expedia, so i always explored them and used them. Obitz seems okay but has often high prices. And i don't have patience to play around with Kayak or many other U.S./Canada based services, because i most often buy my tickets in Europe or Central Asia.
