[Sedentatus]

My flight landed at 8:00 pm, but my luggage went somewhere else. The baggage office said they tracked it to another airport and told me it would be delivered to my motel as soon as it came in. That was expected to be midnight. As all of my contact lens solutions and case were in the bag, I decided to stay up and wait for the bag. The lenses irritate my corneas if I don't take them out at night.

I waited until 3:00 am before I called United the first time. They said my bag was on its way to my motel. I called again at 4:00 am and was told the same thing (my motel was only 20 minutes from the airport). I called at 5:00 am and was told that deliveries are only made between 8:00 am and midnight. I called at 8:30 am and was told they didn't have my bag, but they'd call as soon as they found it, if they did. I drove to a business meeting (the sole reason for my trip) so tired I had chills and my hands were shaking. My bag was delivered sometime after 12 noon.

If they'd had accurate information ("we don't know where your bag is") when I talked to them the first time, I could have gotten a decent night's sleep.
