Angry American - lying about work slowdown ?

We just had the worst experience ever. We were lied to multiple times from American regarding everything from seating to delays due to weather to connections being made. We were told in San Fran that lots of people had called in sick (lie). We were then told the plane was late to SFO weather (lie). We were then told in Miami it was due to Miami weather (lie). We were the told from a customer rep via a complaint we emailed (which we never do - that's how bad it was) that it was due to traffic congestion/ATC. We were treated very rudely in Miami by ground service and told they would not comp our room after we missed our connection. One customer rep even yelled at me in public when we told him we just wanted a comped room at any hotel to sleep6 hours until morning when they could get us on another flight.
Why would anyone ever want to fly on American. The planes are old. The employees are rude and they do appear to lie. Anyone else dealing with this?
