Hi all - I've booked a flight via Opodo to Italy. It uses a flybe flight number/booking reference outbound and a BA flight number/booking reference inbound (but it is actually a Flybe plane/flight).

As I am travelling with my young ( 6 ) daughter, I wanted to be 100% sure we sat together. I've paid for and booked the seats on the flybe outbound without any problems. However my problems are with the BA inbound flight.

Despite their website telling me I can "manage my booking" and reserve seats I cannot as there is no option anywhere for this. So I contacted BA via their webform asking if there was a way to do this or whether I would have to wait until the online check in process (which, according to their website, is a free seat reservation during on line checkin).

The reply I got was that I needed to contact Flybe as it is a Flybe flight. That doesn't sound right to me, as Flybe presumably will not "know me" from my BA booking reference? And also, if I DO somehow manage to reserve seats via Flybe (I assume they will be happy to get cash of anyone, anyway they can ;-) ) will this mean that my booking has become disjointed - ie. the free baggage allowance ends up being related to my BA booking and the seats are related to a Flybe reference. And hence I'll probably end up getting charged for the “free” baggage as well if I end up checking in via Flybe’s process!!??

I've tried to call BA but there is a long waiting time. I also replied to their unhelpful email (via email) - it doesn't actually say whether replies are monitored or not which is particularly unhelpful! I haven't as yet received an automated response from that reply so I assume not.

I’ve not used BA for a while, but I never had any complaints a few years ago when I used them reasonably often. It seems at the very least they are going out of their way to be unhelpful.

If any one knows for sure the best way to resolve my particular need to get me and my daughter sat together please let me know.
