I have had it with Delta and their TSA. I just spent 24 hours in Savannah. While I was there I purchased a signed piece of art. I took special care to put this art in the suitcase encased in cardboard to fit my suitcase and protect the art. I arrived home this evening and opened my suitcase to find the dreaded white ticket indicated my suitcase had been ransacked. The art work is ruined. They took everything out and then crammed the cardboard into the suitcase causing a huge crease in the middle of the art work.
I also purchased a special bottle of Georgia Syrup. Knowing that the bottle could break, I wrapped it inside two plastic bags from the Marriott and tied the end of the bags so if it broke, it would not ruin anything inside my suitcase. They opened the bags- one completely disappeared and they just set the bottle inside the one bag and didn't tie the end shut.
The bottle didn't break; however, the seal on the bottle was broken and there is no way on God's green earth I'm going to use the syrup now because for all I know they spit in the bottle. Why would they open a sealed bottle of Georgia Syrup????????????? For crying out loud.
That's just the issue I had with luggage. I'll have to go to another forum to talk about the one hour on the tarmac in Atlanta. I fly 220 times a year for business. You can bet your sweet bippie that it will be a cold, cold day before I EVER choose Delta again. The only way I'd ever fly them again is if they were the only airline going where I had to go.
It's bad enough that we have to be stripped, take everything out of the bag and be treated like cows getting on the plane. There is not a shred of decency left in flying. Here's the real sad news- they charged me 50 bucks for the bag they desecrated- and the art cost more than that...think they'll give me any kind of compensation????? I'm sure they'd laugh all the way to the bank with my money.
