Last Thursday was the day of my son's senior recital. It was a big deal.

I had an early flight from New Orleans to Dallas, then Dallas to LA. Even with a delay, I should have made it on time. And there was a 2 hour delay and the plane left as they said it would. I should have made my connection just fine; it was late too.

Instead, the short 50 minute flight to New Orleans circled the DFW airport for 2 1/2 hours. We were running out of fuel and instead of letting us land, they diverted us to Austin where we were refueled and put back up in the air to circle DFW....for ANOTHER 2 1/2 hours.

All together, 6 hours and 38 minutes on the plane from New Orleans to Dallas. We saw TWO really bad movies, and of course no food, on what should have been less than an hour flight.

We landed in DFW at 8: 30pm. Of course, I missed my connection....and my son's recital. Something I will never see.

I am a Platinum flier so I fly a lot, on other airlines too. Even with weather, This was ridiculous.
