Default What to do

Gah, reading here, my problem seems so insignificant, but I'll tell it anyway.

I was vacationing in Brazil. I live in New York. On my way home from Brazil I had a connection in Miami. At the fault of AA, my flight from Brazil to Miami was late. This caused me to miss my connection.

I was originally scheduled to fly to New York's JFK airport. The agent notified me that the next flight was overbooked by 14 people and I would not likely make it, so I elected to go fly into Newark (also a NYC metro airport). The agent assured me that I would be eligible for baggage delivery because the delay was the fault of AA.

The next morning I called to get my bags delivered and I was informed that I was ineligible because I had elected to fly to Newark.

I was straight-up lied to. I am so furious with everything that has happened and am willing to fight this to the end. In the scope of complaints, this is a small one. You know, it's not the lying to that really makes me angry. It's AA's customer relations department that just spits off robotic replies. That's what has really pitted me against them.

So....I tried to chargeback. My CC company said no because I actually took the flight. I e-mailed some AA execs, got nowhere. I'm in the middle of a Better Business Bureau complaint that I expect to go nowhere.

It seems that legal action is my final option. Any other ideas?
