Default Airline dedicated to PETS

http://petairways.com/

How long this service lasts remains to be seen. In the meantime it looks like a good deal for those who don't mind travelling to a general aviation (non-scheduled) airport to drop-off, and pick up, their pets. Their New York area base is at Teterboro, New Jersey.

The prices don't seem competitive with what the airlines charge. So the big selling point seems to be in the care given to the pet. A Beechcraft 1900 freighter (no windows) is used. I assume the freighter version has air conditioning like the passenger version, so standing on a hot runway shouldn't be a problem.

Based on my own experience a discussion with your Vet about the advisability of mild sedation for the animal, prior to the trip, (with consideration given to low cabin temperatures) might produce a better outcome.
