I think it is a matter of regret that he was banned, and frankly, I think the board is a bit diminished by his departure. He clearly sailed too close to the wind. On the whole, vigorous debate online is to be encouraged not discouraged.
I found cicero's posts tiresome and his joke was old, stale and taken too far. I didn't however ask for him to be banned, send PM's to the administrator about him or engage him. I just ignored him. That is what the net is all about. If you don't agree or like a poster, just ignore them. |

I just logged on after several months of inactivity to discover that this crazy guy was finally banned from the forum. He was a disruptive force and clearly had professional motivations driving his endless anti-consumer drivel. I am delighted to say the least, but I'm also curious as to how the ban can really be permanent or effective. What's to prevent PHX from getting a new IP address (as he's pointed out) and creating a different user name altogether?

I wonder what caused this unprompted remark from this Doofus on a thread dealing with another member. Last edited by Cicero; Feb 21, 2010 at 10:24 PM. |

AADFW,
There is nothing to stop him from getting another IP address and continuing.. but I doubt he'll be back. |
