Apparently as of very recently Delta will not allow silver elite members to pre-board, thus taking away one of the few advantages of being a lower class "elite" member on this non elite airline. Customer "service" does not exist; their website will not take emails filled out using their form, saying they are experiencing turbulence and one should try again "in a few minutes". Have tried for a week and the same message appears. They don't have a fax and don't want you to email them without using their form. What kind of a business is this anyway? I am a million miler believe it or not and I do not remember the service as being so lousy. They must be ashamed of the silver elite pre-boarding ban since they was no notification of this in any of their nearly daily emails. Time to try other airlines, which probably are not much better.

Delta are appalling and have become even more arrogant since being allowed to merge with Northwest. It is well past time for you to change airlines.

Delta boards by zones, Zone 1 is First Class, Diamond, Platinum, and Gold, Zone 2 is Silver, Zone 3 & 4 is general boarding.
Pre-boarding is for passangers with dissablities and people traveling with infants. As a Silver elite member you can still board before a majority of the passengers. |

It is poor service and you can change it! Post your story on every complaint site that you can find. Google, "Delta complaints" and post your story in as many places as you can. Tell your friends and ask them to tell their friends. Eventually, there will be a change. Until about 4-5 years ago, this was not the case with Delta. They were the best. Sadly, not so much these days. If you're interested, I've found Continental's elite first level to allow this and also access to the priority security line and comp upgrades to Hawaii!
