Frequent flyer schemes are scams. They exist to persuade people to pay more than they need to for airfares. The bills are predominantly paid by businesses and the benefits accrue to individuals. You would be better simply to seek out the best fare/schedule at the time. There is a certain irony in you complaining you can't scam them back.
