Great! So the next crew member to--once again--take-out their feelings of inadequacy on a customer, by calling for the cops for a bogus reason--like responding to a comment from a customer that a complaint letter will be written--THEN--that customer can sue that crew member for slander/libel. As you can see, wise guy, that door swings both ways!

Damn dude, who whizzed in your Cheerios?
The door wouldn't be able to swing that way because in that case there is no slander/libel involved, unless the crewmember posted what happened with the customer's name. However that doesn't mean that the passenger couldn't sue for other reasons if they felt they had a case. But if the cops are called, there is usually a good reason. And even if the agent is full of crap, the police are not going to do much more than run the persons name (as they are required to do when they come in contact with someone) so unless the person did something in front of the cops or they have a warrant, then there wouldn't be much for the police to do. |
