I just got off a plane a ew days ago and had a quite frustrating experiance, nothing to do with the airline or staff, but with this one woman
this pretty large woman was sat in the seat next to me on a full flight, and she had brought her lap dog on with her, except she put it on my assigned seat. I asked her politely if she can put her dog in its crate so that i can sit down since we were about to leave. She refused saying that her dog is scared of the crate and likes and deserves his own seat and that i should find another seat. I showed her my ticket with the seat number and she kept on going on about her dog deserves the best, so i thought i came up with a solution of asking her to hold her dog on her lap, but nope didnt work i asked the flight attendant for some assistance so i can sit down, after the flight attendant explained what was going to happen the woman finally agreed to put her dog under a seat, since she had filled the seat infront and under her with bags and other objects i had to sit with the dog at my feet, i didnt mind coz it was a short trip and i dogs are a mans best friend when the seatbelt sign turned off the woman leaned over me and openned the crate and her dog ran around the plane before it had an accident and we heard a man shouting im allergic to dogs basically this story i am tryin to say is that even if you like dogs, dont bring them on a flight because there are people who get nervous with dogs, and people who are allergic to them, i am all for dogs and cats but when i saw a man throw up and sneeze due to his allergic reaction i realized that the cabin is not a place for them. short note....i got to JFK and went to the Singapore Airlines desk to ask a detail about my flight in august, and next to me was this woman who was freaking out saying this airline sucks you never get free upgrades and was expecting everything, i should have my own escort service..........you get what you pay for, they wont just upgrade you since you feel like you deserve it, it doesnt work that way, and besides you get ALOT more with singapore airlines than any other airline |

Did I miss something here? You said this incident occurred on Continental yet you said "i got to JFK and went to the Singapore Airlines desk to ask a detail about my flight in august." Continental doesn't fly into JFK. Are you sure it was Continental? Or did you fly into EWR or LGA and then go to JFK by some other means of transportation?
And another question. Why would you bother to capitalize "Singapore Airlines" when you didn't capitalize "I" or "August"? Last edited by PHXFlyer; Jul 11, 2009 at 8:51 PM. |

i flew into EWR and took the free shuttle over to JFK (the shuttle service changed companies, diff company now, and either the drivers stopped showing up or something because it seems like 1/2 the time they dont come and alot of people who use that service to JFK miss their flights)
i have this thing on my computer that capitalises company names if it recognizes them, some funky program that hardly works, especially on blogs and forums |

the crew did do something about it once they realized the dog was loose, the flight attendant did a great job, even though you can tell she was having one of those long days that never seems to end, and told the passenger to keep the dog in the approved crate or that if she didnt the dog would be moved in the crate to another safe location where it could be watched and controled
the staff did a great job, the passanger was making a little scene and was sorta disorderly, sayin her dog is better than a human and should have his own seat, she was inconsiderate of others |

I'm not trying to knock what happened - I would have told this lady to go soak her head in a barrel of fish hooks, oh, and if you don't stuff your dog under the seat, I'll gladly stuff him elsewhere for you (I'm a cat person anyway.)
But you are saying the airline did a good job, but it was just her. Why then is this posted? This is a board to complain about airlines. |

i put it here because i dont think dogs should be allowed on planes and that if they are there should be a area where the owner and the dog can sit, like a way that when you buy a ticket you can say that your bringing your dog so that they can be put in a specific area along with other passengers and their dog
i put it in continental because i flew with them when i had this experience with the owner and the dog |
