I was supposed to fly out of DFW to FLL at 6am and due to maintenance the flight was delayed 3 1/2 hours which in turn made me miss all of my business meetings. They offered to refund my ticket but wouldn't rebook me on another airline which was going to cost $400 for a 1 way. Incredibly unhelpful and rude to not only me but other customers that were trying to make a cruise. I fly at least twice a month and never have I been this screwed and had this bad of customer service. Spirit may be cheap but not worth it unless you have all day to deal with delays.

Flying Spirit for "must make" deadlines such as a cruise is crazy. They are at the very bottom end of the market. There is simply no way to get them to "work with you" to solve the problem.... I would never fly with them for anything other than an unimportant leisure trip.

I would avoid all airlines that do not have interline ticketing agreements, regardless of the initial low cost. If their flight is delayed, or cancelled, refund is your only option.

Absolutely right.... There is nothing seamless about starting your journey with one airline and midway through finding you have to pay luggage fees. Codeshares are anti-competitive and bad for the consumer..
