Everything about Delta and Airfrance sucks
When we booked our round trip tickets between Charlotte and Bangalore, we were excited to try Delta as we never been on Delta long trip flights before. However, our excitement was shortlived.
1. On the flight from Cincinnati to Paris, we had one of rudest and unfriendly flight attendant on the plane (Attendants weren’t wearing name tags so we couldn’t get her name). My wife enquired in a polite way if it is possible for her to switch the type of meal she was getting, attendant responded with the rudest tone saying, “We have 181 passengers and 181 meals. We don’t have extra to swap”. We felt insulted by the tone of the response more than the message. There was no ‘please’ or ‘sorry’ in the response.
2. Delta.com/ airfrance.com : - We tried to check in online and noticed that our flights have changed without notice. One would think delta would email passengers when the flight timings have changed, especially ones that would cause them to miss their connecting flight. That didn’t happen and when we called customer care, we were on hold for about 55 mins for an issue we didn’t cause. We were then re-routed through Atlanta to Charlotte. Our original itinerary was BLR – Paris – JFK – Charlotte and new trip was BLR- Paris – Atlanta – Charlotte. Ultimately, we weren’t even able to check in as the air france/delta wouldn’t allow checkins online.
3. Bangalore airport: As people weren’t able to check in online, there was a 3 hr wait at the check in counter. When finally reaching the counter, we were told that there were no two adjacent seats. We booked the flight tickets 4 months before our travel and you still can’t seat wife and husband together on a plane? Once we are on the plane, we noticed several families separated on the plane. Seating assignment was inefficient at best.
4. Paris to Atlanta Flight: While meals were being served, we were informed that we weren’t going to get vegetarian meals. Flight attendant mentioned that since Delta/Air France changed our flights, they haven’t passed our meal preferences to the new flight. Thanks to you delta, we didn’t get anything substantial to eat for next 12 hrs. Adding insult to the injury, the stupid flight attendant wouldn’t believe that we specified our preferences when we booked the flight tickets. I can assure you that we requested vegetarian meals on every flight throughout the trip.
Given above experiences, we will NEVER fly Delta or Air france in the future or recommend them to any one we care about.
