Default Delta sux

I was scheduled for departure at 12:45pm on 11/17/2011 to leave from JFK transfer at NRT to reach destination at PVG to attend my best friend's wedding in China, i was his best man.

1st flight(10:30am): I arrived at the airport around 10:30am, check in and waited for boarding and departure. Finally after boarding we sat in flight for approximately 1 hr before we were informed that there is a technical problem with the electricity or some sort with the flight. We were informed by the flight attendants that there is a flight at 3:30pm. Then, from that point on, it was a total chaos.

2nd flight (1:45pm): I was rescheduled to board on the 3:30pm flight, with one night stay over at japan, but i'll still arrive at Shanghai, China by 11am, 11/19/2011, still enough time for me to travel to the wedding. However, same thing happened as the first flight, it was cancelled after we checked in and waited 15 minutes passed boarding time. I was given a $8 food voucher, that honestly not enough to buy any kind food in the airport.

3rd flight(3:45pm): After second flight was cancelled, i waited for approximately 2 to 3 hours and finally get to speak with a representative at approximately 6pm. I was arranged for the 3rd flight and the representative stated that if I take next morning's flight, i'll still arrive shanghai, china in time for the wedding on the 19th. However, I was given the itinerary first while the rep processing on my documents and transfer my luggages. I, then, find out that the representative scheduled me for the flight that arrives NRT at 12pm, and the connecting flight to PVG was that same day but in morning around 8am. How will I be able to connect to a flight that left Japan 4 hrs prior to my arrival? I questioned the representative, then the representative took the itinerary and teared it apart.

4th flight (7pm): By this time, I was extremely anxious and concern about whether or not i'll arrive shanghai, china on time to attend my best friend's wedding. The representative told me there is nothing they can do, the representative was also being very difficult, rude, and unwilling to assist me. I had to call a friend who also works for an airline, and was told that there is Korean air flight leaving jfk and i'll reach china in time. I had to ask for the manager, and the representative was very unwilling to asked for a manager. A representative lady then came out and assisted me, perhaps a supervisor, she got the korean air ticket for me, and promised that my luggages will be transfered to korean air, and everything will be fine. She also told me that if im still concern about it, i may go double check with John after 1 hr, who handles my luggages. After an hr, i went back and checked with John, he then took additional one hour checking the computer, and reassured me that both my luggage was already transferred over to korean air. By this time, it was already 9pm, i have spend over 10.5 hrs in the airport.

When i arrived korean air counter to check in, i wanted to make sure that they already received my luggage, so i asked the rep. And, i was informed that they have not yet received my luggages. i called delta customer service, and was told that the luggages was already on korean air. I was going back and forth w/ korean air and delta because none of the companies claims to have my luggages, i had done this until 1AM 1/18/2011. i had to board on to korean air. by the time i reach Korea and waiting for connection flight, i asked the local representative about my luggages. it was missing. They did not receive it from delta. Finally, I arrived Shanghai, China, on 1/19/11 at 11am, my luggages are still missing, i had then files lost of luggage with the local delta affiliated company. i had to borrow cloths from my friends in order to attend the wedding, and purchase some necessities. On the very next day, I was contacted by the local airline that helps delta's customers. I was informed that one of my luggage is in Japan, the other one is still in JFK with delta, and i had to wait for 2 more days in order to receive both my luggages. Luckily, i received both my luggages.

After i got back from the trip, my wife had contacted delta's customer care dept on 12/19/2011 at 5:16pm. she was transferred to varies dept, and finally was told to call a 404-773-0305 at 5:35pm, she was hang up by one of the representative once. Then the second time, 5:38pm, when she called, one of the representative's attitude was awfully bad, she had tried to ask for a superior supervisor, and was told by the representative, Tammy, that she is the supervisor, and no one else have higher rank than she does. i wonder if this representative Tammy owns delta air? consider that she is the highest ranked representative/officer.

My overall experience with delta was awful, and i here by request a reasonable compensate from delta. I also believe that delta needs and should retrain most of the employees that comes in direct contact with the customers because the customer service that i received from varies representatives in airport or on the phone was horrible and i DO NOT wish to flight with delta again after this dreadful experience.

That s a typical delta experience I am afraid....you might consider a complaint to the DOT. You are certainly entitled to your expenses related to your lost luggage.
