Since they have merged with Continental, they have become the worst airlines I have ever dwelt with!!!
I will never bother flying United again---they have made the booking procedure so difficult and then change everything you have booked----that they have RUINED any desire we have to fly to Hawaii again. United is Treacherous in changing schedules; and I really believe that my encounter with Supervisor:Ms Jesse Bueno who told me that I could check back inmaybe 6 months, maybe next year in 2013 for seating, was one of the rudest interactions I have ever had with someone who deals with the public. She was the antithesis of helpful. Then mysteriously, my original reservation which was ticketed and seat assigned in Mileage Plus, suddenly disappeared and we were thrown into a potpourri of flights----yet to be determined---increasing our travel time from 9 hrs to 15 hrs----mighty coincidental !
This is what happens when the government allows these companies to merge and monopolize the industry----they no longer need to provide service because the vendors and competition is relatively non-existent. I am canceling my flights and will attempt to travel by a different airline whenever possible----what an outrage this airline is with messing up your online bookings EVEN WHEN YOU HAVE DONE SO 330 DAYS IN ADVANCE !!! Incompetency is their new policy !!!

You are exactly right...as these airlines merge and become mega carriers, they become less and less responsive to consumers. This industry badly needs an overhaul.
