I was trying to get into Cleveland on Friday morning so that I could share an "honor" flight on a restored WWII era B-24 bomber with my 91 year old father. It was his birthday He had flown on a B-24 in the South Pacific.
My Flight Thursday night was canceled without explanation. My rescheduled flight was canceled after 120 minutes on the tarmac. The pilot said that the restroom had not been serviced during the changeover at LGA and was about to "overflow". This, coupled with our low fuel brought us back to the gate. We were then told that the cancelation was due to weather. The weather in Cleveland was sunny. The only option I was provided was a refund as all remaining flights from LGA and JFK were either sold out or canceled.
We should nationalize the airlines industry run them into the ground like the US Postal Service and build high speed rail networks.
