Korea Air Booking/Reservation Ethics
I am expat living in Vietnam with my wife, wanting to vistit Canada next year to see Aunt and Uncle.......
I booked HAN-YYC outbound 08.02.13 inbound 23.02.13, it was quoted at $1467.88 USD pp. I booked 2 PAX = $2935.76
The booking was valid until 3rd December. I called on the 3rd of December to pay for the flight, after a 20 minute call wait, I was told that they could not take my AMEX payment over the phone immediately, as someone would call me back on my Vietnamese cell number within 1 hour.
I did not get the call back.
So I called Korea air back the next morning (4 Dec), after 30minute wait I spoke to an agent and explained the situation, he put me on hold, and then the call disconnected.
So I again called back, and after another 15 minute wait I spoke to 'Jimmy', he went on to tell me that if I wanted the exact same tickets it would not cost me circa $3500. So even I have booking for $3000, and I call KAL on the agreed day to pay, I cannot actually purchase at this price because KAL fail to call me back as promised? Is this fair to KAL customers ? What is the point in the booking/reservation system if I cannot pay for what I have reserved within the agreed time due to your call center representatives failing to call back ?
KAL still have the seats available for the flights I want, so why not honor the ticket price as originally booked seeing I called and requested to pay for the tickets on the agreed date (3rd Dec) ? I did not receive the call back as promised within 1 hour, I had no missed call on my cell, I had no missed call on my alternate cell which KAL also have on record through my SKYPASS membership, I received no email to say that they were trying to call but could not connect etc. Nothing. I had to call KAL back.
I do not believe this is good customer service, and I question KAL's business ethics in dealing with their customers in this manner.
