Mr Mark Brown
Hello Forum
I recently booked some flights tickets via Travel Republic with Avro who are also part of Monarch.
I needed to change my travel dates owing to a unforeseen family committment. Travel Republic contacted Avro on my behalf to ask for the date changes. I have been advised by Avro that they require a further £800.00 to make these date changes. Bearing in mind I originally paid £1,565.00 for the flights. Furthermore, to book the new dates I have requested on Avro's website at the present time it would cost me £1,612.00.
Therefore two questions which I have posed to Avro via Travel Republic and directly to them is how can you justify this gross charge of £800.00 for changing flights?
I accept that an admin fee will be required, however I have yet to receive a breakdown of the £800.00 required.
If I do pay the £800 which I have no intention of doing so this would mean I have paid £2,365 for flights which are currently being sold for £1,612.00
By the way Travel Republic have been fantastic and are currently working hard on my part to resolve this matter satisfactorily with Avro in the hope they will reduce the costs or even waive the charges bearing in mind they recently changed the times of the original flights without any compensation.
Does anyone have any similar experiences with Airlines and how did you go about getting a resolution on the matter
Thanks
Mark
