I have had a few DM's regarding the policy regarding name corrections, once a ticket is issued. Sadly I am unable to reply to you all individually due to site restrictions, however below is some information which you may find useful.

As of 01NOV 2011, all Etihad Airways offices are able to reissue tickets for name correction requests any time prior to departure of your outbound sector, with a charge of USD75 or equivalent, plus the Global Service Fee (if applicable).

This applies only to tickets purchased directly with Etihad Airways, and is not applicable for tickets purchased through a third party. (For example a Travel Agent/Online Booking Site.)

NB** Any issues relating to Third Party purchased Etihad Tickets would not be handled by Etihad, and any changes/correction requests would be governed and actioned by the third party only.

I really need a help to change my surname on my Etihad airlines ticket which I will be leaving within 3 days. Me and my family have always been purchasing international flight tickets from etihad but somehow this time we made an error on my name. I am really in need of help but my travel agent is telling me to cancel the booking at the last time even though I already paid a large amount of money. Please help me!!!!

I booked a flight on the 13th August 2013 and booked it without my middle name, but shown as my last name in my passport. I have contacted Etihad local office in Sweeden who have said I will have to cancel my tickets, which is non refundable and re-book. This is really not an option as I am an student and is returning back to Australia with my 1 year old child, so would not be able to find the funds again.

..................I have since received a reply to say they can’t change my surname on the ticket but they have put a note on the system for the staff to see at check inn. Will it be enough to travel with out my middle name as I am traveling with my son that has all the right names?

(Will I have to check in at all 6 airports return in total or just the once either way?)

I am panicking now, as I am worried that I will be stooped when I travel through security and customs I will probably be refused, as they don’t have the check in desk system inform of them with the note on it to explain the situation.

I do think it would be ideal to have the ticket reprinted with my hole name as I have to be back in Australia by this month, as I am waiting on a new visa. If I cant get there this mean that I can not return to Australia and my son will not see his father for a long time.

I would be more than willing to pay a SMALL fee for the surname change.

Any advice would be very helpful.
