Default Flight AA0699

My oldest daughter flew from LaGuardia NY airport to Raleigh NC for the Thanksgiving last year. The flight was full, she was told to check in her carry-on bag at the airplane door and the luggage was rushed away that she did not have time to take out her notebook computer. Her brand new $2,500 MacAir computer was missing when she arrived at Raleigh. She filed a claim and complaint but the American Airline declined to take responsibility of the lost item even they acknowledged it was missing during the transport.
This year, I booked a round trip ticket for my second daughter to fly home for Thanksgiving from Los Angeles CA to Raleigh NC. She delayed one day to fly home for exam so she bought extra one way American Airline ticket home and thinking to use the return flight to go back to CA.
She found out that her return flight had been canceled when she tried to pre-boarding. We checked online and saw 2 seats still available so we called the airline company to find out why. They claimed it’s no show policy and refused to do anything about it. We paid $650 round trip for "zero service" that they claimed it's the penalty. Serious? Penalty for both ways? We should have the right to demand American Airline to fulfill their duty to fly my daughter back to CA on the return trip. They should at least notify us that the trip had been canceled but no.... they took our $650 for no show and sale it to someone else for $$$. It is outrageous and we are two times victim
