AA should be ashamed
I was flying from Las Vegas to Norfolk on Jan 21. I got to the Airport 2 hours and 15 minutes before my departure time. That was the day before the big snow storm and flights for the next day were already canceled. People were lined up trying to get out of vegas. It took me about 30 minutes to check in and about 1 hour to get to through security. I was chosen for extra screening and it took 15 minutes for a TSA person to come over (no fault of theirs they were so busy). I don't think anyone knew there would be such a mad dash to get out of Vegas. I am a 60 year old female traveling alone. I can not walk real fast. I got to the gate 5 minutes before departure time and they had given my seat away. They were very much over booked. The man at the desk was very rude. It was clear he was not concerned about my problems. I paid $357 for a ticket to get home on Southwest. I was using reward miles to fly on AA. They will not even refund me my miles. They very much deserve the awful reputation they have.
