I am a regular flier with BA and have had very little to complain about over the years, but see my issues below which has led to this complaint.
Arrived at NCL 19:15 BA 1337 27th March Depart NCL 20:30 – Arrive LHR 21:40 Explanation from BA rep at NCL - Delayed due to change of aircraft. BA representative cancelled flight and connecting flight BA 083 27th March Depart LHR 22:40 Arrive ABJ 04:55. Requested for new tickets for 28th March and for the earlier flight from Newcastle so the same situation would not happen again giving me approx. 4 hours in London Heathrow between connections I was issued tickets to fly 28th March. BA 1335 28th March Depart NCL 16:40 Arrive LHR 17:55. Handed new ticket BA 083 28th March LHR Depart 22:40 Arrive ABJ 04:55. Handed new ticket Arrived at Newcastle BA Check in and was told my ticket BA 1335 28th March Depart NCL 16:40 Arrive LHR 17:55 Had been cancelled for reasons they could not tell me. (Reason was given later by BA at Heathrow) New ticket issued for BA 1337 28th March Depart NCL 20:30 Arrive LHR 21:50. If NO delays it Gives me 50 minutes to get connection. That is why I requested later flight which was given then cancelled. Had to wait in Newcastle Airport for approx. 5 hrs. waiting for the next connection. A person who was at the check in had a standby ticket was issued a ticket for the flight and boarded the plane. BA 1335 28th March Depart NCL 16:40 Arrive LHR 17:55. I questioned why I was not issued with this seat on the plane but was told this person had been waiting with a standby ticket for some time. (incredible when I had a ticket for this flight in my hand ??????????????) BA 1337 28th March Depart NCL 20:30 Arrive LHR 21:50 DELAYED to 21:00 hrs. (Unbelievable) Went to boarding and was told that I could possibly still make the connection. (Boarded the plane given their advice) Boarded the plane and asked the Steward if they could tell me which gate my connecting flight BA 083 28th March LHR Depart 22:40 Arrive ABJ 04:55 was leaving from so I could save time and go straight to the gate. The Steward could not tell me but told me that the connecting flight would wait for me to board. (easy comment to make or just a lie) Landed at Gate A. My connecting flight was at gate B 44. Had to take train and get to there as soon as possible. Got to boarding 20:30 Ten minutes before departure but was refused to board. (Now getting very frustrated with BA) Told to go to Customer services at Connecting flight area. (At customer services they handled my predicament very professional.) Investigated and was told Newcastle BA check-in representative had Issued me with a new ticket BA 1335 28th March Depart NCL 16:40 Arrive LHR 17:55 Then cancelled my original ticket BA 1337 27th March Depart NCL 20:30 – Arrive LHR 21:40 which had then cancelled my new ticket AND ALSO my return tickets for the 1st June Abuja- Heathrow – Newcastle. Told me she had re-booked my return tickets. And new flight to Abuja BA 083 29th March LHR Depart 22:40 Arrive ABJ 04:55.22:40 Offered hotel for the night £10.00 voucher for food and return bus tickets from Airport to Hotel. Went to bus terminal 22 and the last bus had gone. Taxis took cash only. Had to go find cash point to pay for Taxi (£30:00). Arrived at Hotel 01:00 29th March. 13:00 pm was asked to vacate room but my flight was not until 22:40. Got bus to Airport and arrived at 14:00 pm. Went to customer service desk to see if they could help and at the very least get me access to a BA lounge. No help whatsoever. The only help you will get from Customer service is if you have a problem with your ticket or require a flight change. No point in calling it “Customer service” when they are limited what they can do for a Customer. I am now 5hrs into trundling around Terminal 5 with another 3hrs to go before HOPEFULLY boarding my flight to ABUJA. Will let you know the outcome. Not looking optimistic Regards Neil Bell (Less than impressed Loyal Customer ?) Lost 2 days at work £600.00 pounds |
