Angry "Waste" of Time

So my mom and I got an earlier flight out of Los Angeles ( to PHL, a 4 1/2 hour flight for us) which is great because then we will get home earlier. We got a text update that we weren't leaving at 2 anymore, and we were leaving at 2:30. So we check in and we are on two seats that are on the polar opposite of the plane. We do some talking to people and then finally we get seats next to each other but there in the very back of the plane. So then when we get on the plane I hear this girl talking to one of the flight attendants and she says that the toilets are not flushing and I'm like oh my gosh this is a five-hour long flight and something went wrong. so then the pilot says over the loudspeaker "we are going to be landing in Chicago because there has been an issue with the plane" and I'm like no! And then I realize that we're probably not that far away from Chicago and then the pilot says that it's going to be an hour until we get into Chicago and that we can probably get off and walk around at the airport while they fix the plane. A lot of people were mad, but they were relieved they could go off the plane, which now smelled disgusting. So we land in Chicago and they don't let us off the plane. My mom and I get really mad and we just go up to the front and we do some talking and then we slightly get off the plane with one of the flight attendants and get back on a few minutes later. We come back onto the aircraft, and we think the problem is fixed everything, but the repair guy isn't even there yet so were waiting and waiting and waiting and then they finally tell us that we're finally going to go to Philadelphia. keep in mind that our flight was originally supposed to land at 10 PM but instead we landed at 1 AM. Not only did all this happen but there was this huge dance team full of teenage girls who really loves singing and they kept singing and talking the whole entire flight and it was basically a nightmare and they ran out of cookies. Also, there was a young man on our flight who had a connection. He was coming from Tokyo, and he had taken a long flight from Tokyo to Los Angeles, he was on our flight to PHL, and then he was going to Nashville (where he lived). This was horrible for him, because not only did the original delay make it difficult to catch his flight, but when we stopped in Chicago, he was going to get off and try to get a flight, since it would be closer to Nashville and he would get to just leave. But since we were practically trapped on the plane, he couldn't book a flight. I can't tell you how tired he looked, I felt horrible for him. He was probably a student too, so he was going to miss class. It turns out what happened was since the flight came in late and we had the original delay, the previous flight was in such a rush to get my flight on, that they didn't empty out the toilets. So, the toilets were full with a full flight's worth of waste. Overall, it was a living nightmare, and I hope no one ever has to go throught this. I would have had a better time walking from LA to Phili.
