don't book with British Airways
I booked a flight thru British Airways for my mother and I to visit my daughter who was studying abroad last summer (2015). My mother became extremely ill a couple of days before the flight and could not fly. I was told I could only have a credit toward a future flight in our names only (non-transferable under any circumstances except death) that had to be taken internationally within 1 year and would have to pay an additional $600 when I re-booked, plus any changes in the fares. So now I have to pay $600 to use $5000 worth of frequent flyer miles in the next month and drag my ill 82 year old mother to fly abroad (my daughter is not longer there) or lose it all! Way to go British Airways! By the way, I checked about booking her a business class ticket so she would be more comfortable if she managed to go and was told it would be $7000!
