Default Intimidation is their first recourse

On my United flight, the flight attendants were terrible. Their first reaction to anything (twice) was to report an incident to the captain first and then find out what happened later.

I met with a customer service representative at the end of the flight. He told me that he could tell that I was guilty just by looking at me, and that nothing I could say would matter. He told me very threateningly that he would have thrown me off the plane, even though the flight attendant had admitted in front of him that she had misunderstood what happened.

He then made up accusations that were not even part of the original complaint that he said he would put in an FAA incident report. I cannot find any way to see if a report was filed.

I still do not know why the first flight attendant went berserk, since I did what she asked as soon as she asked it. A second flight attendant scared the heck out of me by making a very loud noise with a hanger at my window shade, trying to close it, and when the noise caused me to open my eyes and see a huge metal thing 2 inches from my face, he told the pilot that I assaulted him when I pushed the hanger our of my face.

The customer service manager, and one of the pursors on the plane, told me that their only priority in this case was to protect United and the flight crew. They really did not care about what really happened. I do not know why they had to be so threatening and intimidating about it.

I contacted the Department of Transportation to complain, but they only care about statistics, not about the details of any case. I contacted United to complain, but "in the interests of my privacy" they will never "bother" me again with any details about whether or not they acted on my complaint.

The inclination of the public since 11 Sep 2011 towards hysterical paranoia is very well exploited by flight crews. They have the power, and they're not afraid to use it.
