Default Drive??

Ultimately the issue of travel on commuter carriers becomes one of "you takes your chances." I don't see any meaningful changes coming in the way these carriers do business. Crew lounges are, probably still, being used as sleeping areas, and trans-continental "commutes," by cockpit crew, will continue to be allowed--to name two examples from the Buffalo wreck. The government could impose serious fines (and not later reduce them to nothing) or even lift a carrier's certification. Neither of those things are going to happen. In my case I COULD drive 14 hours to Salt Lake City, rather than hop a Beech 1900 to Denver. At the moment I'm taking my chances with the Beech 1900.
