During my friends check-in for their flight back home in AVIOR AIRLINES, the personnel had a complaint about a missing suitcase linked to one of the members of the group of people that traveled to the United States, on Vacation to visit Miami and Orlando.
They had his empty luggage and were accusing him of steeling someone … This empty suitcase, having the same dimensions and color as his was mistakenly taken. As any traveler in a foreign country, un sure of the procedures, they asked the employee by the luggage pick-up if they had to check their tickets to retrieve their belongings; this person waved at them in sing of approval to move on. By the time they arrive to Orlando after thy picked up their rental vehicle, they realize the mistake. To make things worse, they did not contact the airline thinking they thought that one of their parents had switched the empty suitcases without telling them and just went on to enjoy their stay in our sunny Florida. The gentleman (I’m not so sure he deserves to be called so) that presented this complaint did so using a very inappropriate, offensive language and in general an ill guided attitude towards the travelers who still had in their possession the confused piece of luggage. After been threatened to not let him leave the country and some extra verbal abuse, they managed some common since out of this person and agreed to let them board the plane after they left their contact information and agreeing to tray to find a SECOND missing suitcase (what?? Third party involved??) We say good-bye, they board. Later that day, when they arrived, NO luggage. They contact the airline, NO reason, No explanation, nothing. Finally, after four hours in Barcelona, VEN. Airport they were told their stuff will be there the next day. The next day (May 22) No luggage. More hours spent at the airport with no answer, they where bluntly told that they would not get their stiff until the ‘third party’ suitcase was found! What do they have to do with that?! Therefore, I do what I can from the US and call AVIOR AIRLINES with little luck. After several dials to different numbers they have posted on their website, I spoke to a woman and she said she would call me back. NEVER HAPPENED. I decided to call Miami airport and by the end of the day, a woman told me she was trying to figure out where my friend’s luggage was. So finally, there is no luggage to be found in MIAMI, not to be found in Barcelona, VEN. They have been mugged by the airline personnel. I am amazed that a group of employees can manipulate people’s belongings, without someone supervising or simply making sure the service for which they paid is completed. These people need to be monitored so they comply with the law of our nation. What a nice impression of the security in our country have my friends learned. |
